Versatile Application Across Service Environments The Atlas TC289 rim clamp, swing arm tire changer serves general automotive service departments, medium-sized tire stores, farm operations, and residential users ("Mr. Homeowner") requiring larger tire changing capability beyond standard passenger vehicle equipment.
Maximum Clearance for Oversized Tires Features the biggest turntable and most clearance in the Atlas tire changer lineup, engineered to handle the biggest diameter tires. This expanded capacity makes it perfect for changing tires on large SUVs and one-ton trucks that exceed the dimensional limits of standard tire changers.
Integrated Beadblaster Inflation System Incorporates a built-in "Beadblaster" system that assists inflation of stiff sidewall or other "hard to inflate" tires by forcing concentrated air volume into the bead seat area, overcoming the resistance preventing standard inflation from properly seating tire beads.
Wheel-Safe Design with Adjustable Bead Breaking Atlas wheel clamp tire changers protect both high-priced alloy wheels and steel wheels without rim or tire damage. The TC289 includes a powerful ADJUSTABLE bead breaker located on the machine side, designed to break even the most stubborn and rusted beads without rim damage. Adjustability enables operators to calibrate bead breaking force based on tire condition and bead adhesion.
Variable Clamping Range Turntable jaws (which accept plastic covers for additional protection) hold the rim securely without damaging the surface. These jaws move to three different positions along the turntable slide to either increase or decrease the clamping range, enabling the machine to handle the widest variety of tires without requiring multiple jaw sets.
Assembly Requirement The Atlas TC289 requires some assembly after purchase - the unit does not arrive fully constructed and operational.
